Version 12 of Maxon's Cinema 4D software is now out and, as you would expect, it's absolutely chock-full of new features for getting the most out of your 3D projects. There are four different versions so, whether you're an animator, motion graphics artist, architect or designer, there's a package to suit you.

Here are a few of C4D R12's new features...

Improved rendering tools including linear workflow for mixing colours and light more realistically, physically accurate light falloffs with IES Lights and an updated Picture Viewer allowing full-screen playback and extra re-touching.

The all-new MoDynamics engine builds on the MoGraph tool and Bullet physics library, allowing you to set simple parameters for bounce, gravity and friction effects.

New Deformer tools let you modify objects based on a low-poly cage or within the screen space. You can also squash, stretch, smooth or make objects jiggle like a bowl of jelly without having to add extra joints.

There are also loads more features tailored to each different configuration - Prime for graphic designers, Broadcast for motion graphics artists, Visualize for architects and designers or the complete Studio collection.
